After my first experience at the Speed Challenge 2013 I'm very much exited for 2014. There was and is a lot of learning and improving in this sports. High speeds up to 100 km/h and more is formula 1 in windsurfing. Every millimeter on your trimm counts and makes big differences in your setup. But it's not only your gear, because today all brands produce and develop fantastic windsurfing gear. It's also a mental game and beliving in yourself to achive your goals.

This competition is not only a fight between competitors but also a fantastic and great come together of rider from all over the world. Each rider spends a huge amount of time in training and money to get there. This explodes when we finally get on the channel. Riders are flying with more then 90 km/h up to over a 100 km/h on a 500m strip. It's absolutely impressive!

Winds are blowing up to 40 to 50 knots, you barely can't see because the sand blasts in your eyes. This is when it's starts to get interesting and new records can be made. We hope for good strong winds this year to reach over 52.02 knots, which is the current record of Antoine Albeau the french multiple champion in windsurfing.
